(a) Save the Children Heart Program:

 

The Government of Nepal provided financial support to launch “National Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease Prevention and Control Program” from June 2007. Under this program, screening of school going Children is undertaken and penicillin injections to the patients are made available through National, Regional and Zonal Hospitals. Advocacy, training and awareness generation are other components of this program.

 

(b) Heart Attack Control Program:

 

This program promotes awareness to control high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and smoking. Heart healthy life style change programs are implemented through district units.

 

(c) Heart Patient Rehabilitation Program.

 

This program includes life style and stress management. Awareness generation towards heart friendly food habit.

 

(d) Heart Disease Treatment Fund

 

NHF supports partially to the heart patients to pay the heart surgery bill under the recommendation of Heart Hospital. Fund is expected to collect 10 million rupees to

support this program.

 

(e) Go Red for Women Special Program:

 

This program aims at awareness generation among women about heart disease.

A Committee headed by the member of NHF carry on activities, programs and communications in the district units of NHF.
