Initially, the idea of creation of fund was mooted by Him Kanta Sharma Neupane who was himself a heart  patient and underwent through surgery and had intimate experience of what goes  through with the heart patients. He started collection of fund by collecting the used  newspapers from the members of the NHF and sold those collected newspapers to Bhrikuti paper factory for recycling the paper.Similarly, he collected metal caps of Coca-Cola bottles and sold those cap metals . The efforts had good support of all members. So long he was active , this program could generate some fund but the target of 10 million collection was a long distance target.

 

The enlightened Treasurer of NHF, Mr. Bhim Bahadur Adhikary set aside some  cash in the annual budget of NHF  for Heart Treatment Fund, This provision helped grow the fund but still a long way to achieve the target of 10 million collection.

 

When Mr. Dilli Prakash Ghimire became the President of Nepal Heart Foundation in 2014, he vowed to raise fund for this Heart Treatment Fund and made  the target to collect NRS. 10 million ( Ek  Crore Rupiya) before his term of office which is going to expire by February , 2017.

 

To day, December 25, 2017, he became successful to fulfill his target to collect Rs. 10,million during his tenure. He could collect 3.6 million rupees during his tenure of 3 years.  For his untiring effort and convincing persuasion to the donors to contribute fund for the noble cause of helping the deprived and disadvantageous  heart patients, he deserves congratulation and high appreciation  from Nepal Heart Foundation.
